This hik e is 5.3 miles long\, has an elevation gain of 423ft and is a moderate hik e. Jonas will be the grubmaster for this hike\, and details about the trai l meals will be finalized on Thursday.  Budget is $7 per scout. There is a potential chance for a drizzle on Saturday\, and we will make necessary adjustments if rain stops the hike. On Saturday\, the high temperature wil l be 79 degrees Fahrenheit and the low 66 degrees Fahrenheit. We plan to m et at 8:00 am at 13700-13898 Lewisdale Road at the trailhead near horse tr ailer parking right off Prescott Road. This hike is estimated to take 2 ho urs\, but we decided to be generous with time\, for whatever may occur. H iking Equipment    All Scouts should be prepared with appropriate equipm ent including:  A jetboil for cooking breakfast(Please let Nolan\, Jonas\ , and Mr. Wood know if you do not have any jetboil\, so we can provide one for you).  With that\, please bring water to boil\, as well as water to drink in a bottle that can take at least a quart of water.  Appropriate l ightweight hiking boots are necessary as this trail may be muddy\, especia lly due to the rain we have been getting recently.  Rain gear (as I menti oned earlier\, there may be light rain during the hike)\, rain gear can in clude a light jacket\, poncho\, an appropriate hat\, gaiters\, and/or rain pants. Utensils are needed\, especially spoons and forks for the meals th at will be prepared. If need be\, for breakfast which will have oatmeal an d boiled eggs\, bring a cup or small plate. Their merit badge work will be built into their dai ly schedule\, and they will not have to sign up for the merit badges separ ately. Wednesday 7/8/26 at Sinoquipe is Spirit Day. It’s a chance for s couts to show their Scout Spirit and enjoy some competition with the other troops. Lots of activities earn troops POINTS! Even just getting a slushi e can earn troops POINTS! Scouts are encouraged to try the activities at t he different areas around camp. Each troop can also earn POINTS by dressin g up to a theme. We’ve seen minions and pirates and dinosaurs and many o ther creative costumes. Patrol leaders gather ideas from the scouts and ha ve the troop vote on a plan.Camp Sinoquipe also has a Second Year Camper p rogram call Trailblazerss.  Similar to the Lakusin program\, the Trailbla zer program is for the second-year scout that wants to work some of their First-Class rank requirements and build on some of those important outdoor /wilderness scout skills. The Trailblazer program is a half-day semi struc tured program that still allows time for the scout to sign up for a few tr aditional summer camp merit badges during the balance of their day.
